  1. Let's see... posted at 9:59pm... **does some quick calculations**

Aha! You started your vigil in broad daylight too...didn't ya. Oh well... any year they use candles and not little green glow sticks is a good one. Happy Easter!

  2. Calculate again my friend. In this part of the world (remember that I am much further north than you are - I think), when I started the vigil at 8 pm... the sun had set!

    Christ is Risen indeed!

  3. ... and candles were indeed lit - glow sticks have no place in church - nor those hideous electric votive "candles".

So things are not improved by 'progress'.

    The vigil was MAGNIFICENT!

  4. Fr. Tim,
Our Vigil was also magnificent at St. Peter's, in Parry Sound. We began, in darkness, at 8:30pm. The liturgy, music, and the faithful witness of the flock of altar servers were all most edifying.
Just wanted to wish you a Joyous and Blessed Easter, Father Tim. You are one of the lights of Christ, spreading the light of the Easter candle throughout the digital continent.

  6. Father Tim
Happy Easter and may the face of our risen Christ shine on you always and bring you His peace and joy
Like in Parry Sound our vigil began in the dark at 8:30 and it was wonderful...the 21/2 hours just flew by..i am not sure i have ever heard the renewal of baptismal promises proclaimed with such joy and enthusiasm. At he end of it our parish family sang a wonderful Happy Birthday to our Pastor...it was a night all of us will remember always.

  8. I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful Easter Vigil.... Unfortunately we did not. As there is a shortage of priests, we are now in the priest sharing stage and for the past couple of years we have not had an Easter Vigil in our town. I could have attended one of the two french services in neighboring towns but just not the same... you know what I mean. Take care Father Tim... we miss you.
