Century-old archaeological find could prove authenticity of Jesus’ prophesy of the resurrection - Vatican Insider

  1. Did I read this to seek confirmation of what I already believe?
    Or..
Did I read it needing no proof but simply to know that I am justified in my belief?
If it does prove the prophesy of Jesus' resurrection would that cause great conversions?

    1. Do real Christians care if Jesus was truly resurrected? Do they care if he turned water into wine 2000 years ago or if priests really effect transubstantiation of the Host today? Are we here to live as Christians or to see a tawdry magic show performed by old men in gaudy robes? That's two different kinds of Christianity. Which kind are you attracted to?

reddog, I have thought over my comments above and wish to ammend them.
If you would meet me some place, your choosing, I guarantee you will have a red chin, 2 black eyes, and a sore arse after about 6 minutes of our meeting

    3. Nice, Mark. You sound a lot like Father Tim. At least you don't go around calling everybody dick wad, whatever that is and insulting other people's mother, cultural background and religion when not able to make any other rational response. Thank you for that.

    4. I'm not familiar with Javex, Tim. Is that some antiseptic solution that you priests use to douche out the rectums of the little boys before you make sodomy with them? Excuse my ignorance.

  2. Father Tim - we can all tolerate passionate debate - this dog needs to be put down - please remove him. He is clearly a child who has no place here.

    1. Steve: He is a troll. He tries to elicit a response because it makes him feel important. His current delusion is that I am posting comments under various handles. It's a tactic he's used on the National Post site whenever he gets banned.

Usually anything he offers gets immediately sent to my spam folder just due to the language they contain. I thought that perhaps with the arrival of this beautiful spring weather (which means he gets to come up out of his mother's basement and clear his head of months of accumulated furnace fumes) that perhaps, having come into the light after his winter life as a mole, he actually want to participate in an intelligent conversation. He's occasionally shown that he might actually possess something more than the school yard, pubescent crap I just posted on his behalf would indicate. Sadly, again he's demonstrated his personal inadequacy as a partner. I doubt it's the first time or forum that's happened to the old sea dog.

If he holds to form, this EXEMPLAR of the 'DICKWAD THEORY'* will no doubt find his future posts relegated to the junk folder as, when he can't actually construct a cogent argument, he begins to post offensively with specific language and terms that even a computer algorithm knows to consign his comments unread to the nether regions of cyberspace.

      Tim

(*I actually feel sorry for him because evidently he's too simple to be able to google the term and find out what it means and why he is such a PERFECT example of John Gabriel's argument. I've kind of thought of him as my personal pet troll. Not really a Screwtape... more of the Wormwood variety.)

  3. Well, while I admire your enthusiasm Fr. Tim in engaging in this forum, I shall bow out. There could be a real opportunity to enter into serious dialogue with folks, regretfully these blogs become places for the crazy and the wacky to spout their nonsense, usually behind cover. Or the typical Catholic haters of all kinds.

    Life is too short!

As one haughty lady once said on one of my favorite Law & Order: Criminal Intent episodes once said "have a nice existence" everyone!
