The main problem seems to be that his priests have ganged up against him.

Bishops who are merely despised by their laity seem immune to criticism within the Church. Lennon is not nearly as hated generally as Morlino nearby in Madison, Wisconsin and is a paragon of geniality compared to Francis Martino who led Scranton, Pennsylvania a few years ago. He seems most intent in his desires to solve the fiscal problems of the Church within his area of administration. As far as I know he is not any more reactionary than is normal for B VI or JP II appointed bishops.

Lennon is also disconnected with many lay Catholics, religious leaders of other faiths, many religious women, and several civic and elected officials. Read www.tallio.wordpress.com.
