Fr. Tim, throw me a life preserver. :->
ReplyDeleteRationalist: LOL. I think that you can 'swim' every bit as well as I can!
DeleteFr. Tim
Just 2 lonely sycophants, warbling in the sublunary, howling when the need is felt !
DeleteAnnie - A sycophant, beyond being part of Dante's 8th circle of hell, implies insincere flattery. I can assure you that is not my case with Fr. Tim. Although we disagree on many issues we have found concord on others and while I do not expect a consilience, it is refreshing that two people can engage in a civil blog discussion from two radically different worldviews.
DeleteAnnie: The secret is in understanding that it's possible to disagree without being disagreeable. It used to be a lesson one learned as a child. I take it from your comment that it's another in a sad litany of lost virtues and civil attitudes no longer taught as part of what used to pass for a proper and complete education.
ReplyDeleteCivil discourse is more than using multi syllabic words like sycophant. It also presumes more than a good vocabulary. Far more important is to possess a sufficient maturity to discuss, debate, and often fiercely disagree without need for demeaning each other. It's how adults discuss these things.
You should try it yourself someday.
I pray that you might come to take possession of such attitudes and talents that Rationalist and I mastered before we graduated from the second grade so that you too can be thought of as someone that our teachers would be proud of.
Too bad the two of you are still stuck in the mentality of second-gradeers !
DeleteWhy do the two of you not just email one another privately, enjoy esch others thoughts and company, and spare the cyber-space the cluttering of it by puffery !
Annie: Because it's my blog and I'll use it the way that I choose. Don't like it? Bitch about it on your own blog!
DeleteFr. Tim
Annie - The other option would be to make a relevant comment yourself and see how you fare.
DeleteFr Moyle, you really are a classy priest-not!
DeleteIf you are an example of what young Catholica see in the church these days, it is no wonder vocations to the priesthood are doawn.Who would ever want to be like you?
Annie: De gustibus non est disputandum
DeleteFr. Tim
et cum spiritu tuo, padre. Je suis malade . quand je pense de pauvre Mattawa.
DeleteDomine non sum dignus.
I would think that it does matter what tastes a Catholic Priest has ! Your tastes in trying to invite attacks on the Catholic Church through your tricky way of framing things you want discussed , cries out that you are a dissident Priest who wants others to attack the Catholic Church for you. You would lose your position if you did it!
DeleteNot so brave are you?
Annie: I have to check your IP address. You sound a great deal like a notorious California troll who last thrown his scat at others here before. Perhaps too much so.
ReplyDeleteWe shall see where my google stats says you're located. If you actually live in Mattawa, a quick review will prove you either a liar or just a bitter, calloused soul seeking to deny God's free gift of grace and redemption to others. Either way, flinging insults at others may see your posting here come to an abrupt end if my suspicions about are are correct.
